Why? Because I’ve had this going through my head for the last few days. And sure, some of it is because I just got the first 12 episodes on DVD. But some of it isn’t.

I admit to being curious how many people will know where the song’s from. No fair looking at the title and googling if you don’t know.

Speaking of animals, just because it’s slipping down the screen here is no reason not to go look at the post that contains the cat pictures Stephanie promised us.

   ooh pahleeeze.. an early 60’s knock off of Sky King meets Rin Tin Tin?  For criminy sakes, a dog not trained by Rudd Weatherwax should never be on TV. 

   I hear the Mojave (Rand? Johanesburg? Zyzzyx Road?  I have found some of the best agate and jasper out there in those caves) calling, better get on the road, Chris.

   Yabbut, Sergeant Preston of the Yukon and his dog, Yukon King, could run rings around London, pulling a sled.

   I was an adult before I realized that the man was Sergeant Preston and the dog was Yukon King.

    

   The next dog I have will be named Sergeant Preston.

   After ~23+ years working with PCs and their ancestors, I finally decided to try how using a Mac would go, and have been mostly enjoying the adjustment process.

   So I click on the link, and it straight away not just starts playing without a fuss, but brings up a little window that shows various details of the track, including its title.  Kinda spoils the guessing game, except that I never watched that show, so I wouldn’t guess it in any case.

    

   Hope the trip goes well, Chris.  Late last year I had my first holiday away since June 1997, a fortnight mostly in the bush of Tasmania’s west coast, travelling there & back by boat.  By golly, it really, really, helped.

   Those basin and ranges between California and Arizona….rain on long dry dirt….Sierra in the background hogging all the snow….the fine line between sagebrush and Ponderosa…layers of experience drop away and perception remains
