I suppose you can consider this an open letter.
My tolerance for nuttiness is fairly high in general, but my time at Earth Island Journal severely aggravated my pre-existing allergy to pseudoscientific cranks of many different types.
So it is unlikely that I will consider 600-word, off-topic rants on your new self-published book on how all the mean establishment scientists are squelching cold fusion to be valuable contributions to the discourse here.
This is doubly true if, after I delete your comment, you post the identical comment in a different thread.
Double that again if the comment starts out with a complaint about another blogger cruelly deleting the identical comment from her blog.
And you get one more doubling of the unlikelihood that I will consider you a worthwhile commenter if the deletion you’re complaining about was done by Jennifer Ouellette, who is the smartest person alive and one of the kindest, and if she deletes your comment you’re pretty much a useless jerk by definition, and you will get Akismeted.
I imagine it would be fair to add an additional penalty for misspelling Jennifer’s name in doing so, but we are a generous people.
Don’t know if yopu’ve seen the latest issue. FWIW, I did my damnedest.
