Quake!

Just felt a good sharp jolt at 10:21, according to the clock on my computer here.

Update: It was close and small, a 3.4 with an epicenter about four miles away in Hercules.

I wonder which fault it was on. Don’t know of one there. The Pinole fault is much closer to our house.

    living in california, i’m sure this is old hat to you!

    i moved from new england to chicago last year, and last summer there was actually a smallish earthquake around 1:00 am…i just happened to be awake watching tv, and the house shook, and i thought “that’s weird — usually the central air isn’t that loud.” ha.

    Could be a rebound earthquake from the deglaciation.

    The location of the quake doesn’t have a fault running thru it, at least on the USGS map for it:
