    Chris: this works great. (The larger image took 45 seconds to load on dial-up; this is what living n the boonies does.)

    A postdoc friend here in Davis has just started a birding blog through surfbirds and I think they don’t have an option about thumbnail size; it’s what they’re given. But it is just perfect. (See http://www.surfbirds.com/blogs/rjhall/)

     

    By the way, there doesn’t seem to have been any significant loss in quality of the sidebar Zeke picture…. thanks for shrinking it further!

    Those are some well-grounded feet! Do you think the splayed effect with owl-like hairs between the toes adds to flotation in the mud?
