That image is so incredibly depressing. We drove through the park last Sunday for the first time since the fire. We wanted to head up to mid hills and down Black Canyon and Wild Horse Canyon Roads but both were closed due to the fire and the erosion brought on by the monsoon rains, rains that have kept the sage tall and green
Our last 4-day wander was a couple of weeks before the fire and we celebrated the intense green but feared the fuel it might become.
We’ll put on a little Scenic to try to lighten our mood.
Perversely enough, I think that it looks better post burn.
