Randi Rhodes can certainly be shrill, but you have to admit that she’s fighting the good fight. We need more personalities ready to speak to power so unflinchingly. On the other hand, you need some good tunes too.
Thanks for the welcome, Chris. I’ve enjoyed your blog for some time now.
Randi seems to chase a lot of people away. Still, she’s been able to maintain an admirable level of indignation for a long time while so many of us have succumbed to outrage fatigue. That counts for something with me.
Based on your previous posts about Air America, I get the sense that you might not get Morning Sedition through your affiliate. If not, that’s a shame because they’re a lot of fun.
I liked Morning Sedition. I’ve actually liked Marc Maron since he hosted Short Attention Span Theater on Comedy Central — this would be 1994?
Our local AA affiliate has yanked Morning Sedition, though, in favor of Jerry Springer. Here’s a shocker: I think Springer is pretty damned good. He respects the callers, raises intelligent points, and lets people say what they want to say while keeping things moving. (A skill I labored to develop when I was doing radio.)

I have utterly no problem with shrill. I like shrill.
My problem is with Rhodes’ misrepresenting facts and covering up her own abysmal ignorance of certain matters. I’ve written about this here and here.
Reasonable people might disagree with my characterization of her, and that’s fine. She wouldn’t grant me that right, however.
Oh, and by the way… welcome, Mike!
