Yahrzeit
I have so dearly loved reading this old Usenet thread this week.
Wednesday is the anniversary of her death.
I cannot fathom the notion that I have spent a year without talking to Maddy. Just can't wrap my mind around it. Can't be true. I still expect to see her mailbox turn bold with an emailed dope slap about some stupid comment I've made somewhere.
Ah this too-short life. Ah, my friends. I get so busy, so sidetracked, and I forget to tell you how much I love you.
I love you, all of you who ride with me on this little spinning speck, all of you who have extended a hand to me. I love you.
Goddamn it, Madeleine. You are so missed.

Nice to find another lover of desert environments; I noticed your writing through Live Journal.
Posted by: Jeffrey Alfier at December 14, 2004 12:00 AMThanks for the link, Chris -- I enjoyed reading it again, too.
Posted by: Becca at December 14, 2004 04:40 AMIndeed...It comes and goes, but I still sometimes think of things that Madeleine would appreciate more than anybody else. It sucks that I can't share them with her.
