Professional success at last
My piece on Stephen Peter Morin is apparently, as of this moment, the 99th most popular thing to link to in all blogdom.
Welcome to all you LiveJournal folks. Make yourselves comfortable.
[later] Slipping down to 150 or so. Sic transit something or other. (Re vera, linguam Latinum vix cognovi. Sed quod nesciunt eos non interficiet.)

Thanks. I'm planning to stay and lurk awhile. It really was a great piece. :)
Posted by: Trope at April 6, 2005 01:25 PMchris, it's a really powerful piece.
i know you've heard that already.
but what is profound about it is that these emotions are so tightly unwound in the essay, it's like you are squeezing a lemon into a glass, there's this unearthly strong control. i feel like i was slammed across the room by the power of your emotions.
sorry if that sounds corny.
when i read "in the van i helped him soundproof"
a voice in my head went "oh, GOD!" and i felt like i was there.
i think you are a great writer and i hope you follow that out and see where it goes.
And it deserves to be.
Posted by: KathyF at April 7, 2005 12:39 AMWell thank you. The trip from livejournal here was indeed quite pain free.
Great piece. But you already know that.
