Now I'll have some actual non-irritating radio to switch to when Randi Rhodes comes on Air America.

Randi Rhodes can certainly be shrill, but you have to admit that she's fighting the good fight. We need more personalities ready to speak to power so unflinchingly. On the other hand, you need some good tunes too.Posted by: Mike at June 6, 2005 09:01 AM
I have utterly no problem with shrill. I like shrill.
Reasonable people might disagree with my characterization of her, and that's fine. She wouldn't grant me that right, however.Posted by: Chris Clarke at June 6, 2005 10:09 AM
Oh, and by the way... welcome, Mike!Posted by: Chris Clarke at June 6, 2005 10:45 AM
Thanks for the welcome, Chris. I've enjoyed your blog for some time now.
Randi seems to chase a lot of people away. Still, she's been able to maintain an admirable level of indignation for a long time while so many of us have succumbed to outrage fatigue. That counts for something with me.
Based on your previous posts about Air America, I get the sense that you might not get Morning Sedition through your affiliate. If not, that's a shame because they're a lot of fun.Posted by: Mike at June 6, 2005 01:02 PM
I liked Morning Sedition. I've actually liked Marc Maron since he hosted Short Attention Span Theater on Comedy Central - this would be 1994?
Our local AA affiliate has yanked Morning Sedition, though, in favor of Jerry Springer. Here's a shocker: I think Springer is pretty damned good. He respects the callers, raises intelligent points, and lets people say what they want to say while keeping things moving. (A skill I labored to develop when I was doing radio.)Posted by: Chris Clarke at June 6, 2005 02:06 PM
