I'm home sick with a sore throat, so imagine this being typed in a hoarse whisper. Imagine me as a hoarse, whispering Robert Redford. Imagine the skies above you dark with flocks of aerial simians.
Went to pick Harley up this AM. They suggested he stay. His gastrointestinal functions are not back to normal. Guinea pigs need a constant stream of food going in one end and out the other to stay healthy. He's got the "in one end" part down, but the "out the other" needs some work. So they're going to force-feed him - a process that, with Harley, requires remarkably little force. A day of that and he should be emitting enough shit to qualify for a spot on conservative talk radio.
[10:00 PM] He's home. He's not doing as well as he was yesterday. I just got a syringe of food into him... or four fifths, and a fifth all over the towel on my lap. But his eyes look good and he's happy to be home. He'll be fine in a while, for a while.
Thanks, everyone, for all the notes of support.

Hee. He's a tough little guy, isn't he?Posted by: Rana at June 15, 2005 12:40 PM
Poor little guys. Hope you are both eating lots of carrots again soon.
If you think you're getting a cold, try Cold-Eeze lozenges. They really ward off a cold if you start them soon enough.Posted by: Rurality at June 15, 2005 02:06 PM
2nd the Cold-Eeze lozenges, and 'Airborne' is awesome too.
Feel better soon!Posted by: Space Kitty at June 15, 2005 02:50 PM
