Coolest thing ever
Via Majikthise, some Flying Snake Video Clips. Flying in the same sense that some squirrels do, that is. The Paradise tree snake will leap from a height, flatten its body and curve into an "S" to present a stable, flat surface for optimal lift, and glide for a fairly astonishing distance. Wow.

HEY:)
first time here...
came in through Jay's blog
I saw these clips a couple of days ago here. The movies where the snake makes a sharp turn mid-flight creeped me all the way out, yo.
Posted by: the_bone at June 27, 2005 07:07 AMThey are exceptional animals! Being a herpetology nut, I've long been fascinated by all the snakes, but opisthoglyphous snakes are my favorite!
Posted by: Hungry Hyaena at June 27, 2005 04:12 PMThe_bone tried to show me the flying snakes the other day (inadvertent euphamism alert) and my response then and now is:
There is no such thing!
*shudder*
