Zeke

My dear Chosen Life Partner, who is otherwise utterly perfect in every way, has the rather embarrassing habit of reading the horoscope column in each day's newspaper.

Which would be just fine - my faithful readers know full well that I am by my very nature a tolerant and completely non-judgemental kind of guy - except that she insists on reading them out loud. To me. After forcing me to give her my undivided attention. Which in itself is close to physically painful for me.

Mitigating it all somewhat is the fact that after she reads her horoscope, and then mine ("Hey, Chris, you had a five-star day today!" "Well, let's just save 'em, because I sure as hell didn't use any of 'em"), she will read Zeke's horoscope.

Back a million years ago when we first adopted Zeke I calculated that he was probably born in mid-winter, and picked February 14 as an arbitrary if mushily appropriate birthday for him. According to the Laws of Astrology, I believe that makes him an Aquarium with Torgo rising. He is not allowed to have a moon in the house unless we spread out newspapers. Ideally with the horoscope column facing upward.

So this morning, this was what Zeke's astrologer had to say by way of advising him: "A problem with authority figures will develop if you don't abide by the rules and regulations."

Not bad. Still, not as good as yesterday's: "Don't wait for someone else to start the ball rolling."

And thank you to Mrs. Clarke & Zeke for providing today's funnies (albeit, at Mr. Clarke's expense).
