I once worked for Times-Mirror, back when they hired a new CEO known as The Cereal Killer. He'd presided over a lot of downsizing in his previous post at General Mills (or whichever cereal company it was).

The last few years before my father retired as a reference librarian at Penn State, he was in charge of deciding which arts/humanities periodicals to cancel subscriptions for, due to budget cuts. So whenever anyone mentions a serial killer, I think of my dad.
