Dear Harry, get well soon, Love Dick

If you should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a big oil field
That is for ever Texas. There shall be
In that rich earth a rich man's act concealed;
A pest Wyoming bore, bent, made beware,
Gave, once, her flowers to mow, some quail for hurtin'.
An owner of Big Oil, seething millionaire,
Sold off the rivers, bought by Halliburton.

And think, your heart, all peppered, ground away,
A shot in the eternal arm, no less
To e'er fill up the thoughts by Fox News given;
With terrorists, and nuptials that are gay.
And after that, more corporate excess,
As Charon's fine, swift boat bears you to heaven.

"To e'er fill up the thoughts by Fox News given;
With terrorists, and nuptials that are gay..."

It's the song of our times, with Rove as choirmaster (in a role that finally fits the face).

"Seething millionaire" focuses, like a shotgun choke, Thomas Frank's "bitter self made man" from What's The Matter With Kansas? One imagines that piles of cash would turn those frowns upside down.
