Back up and running

Those of you who came by between the hours of 1:30 and 8:00 am this morning saw a plaintive hand-crafted technical difficulties note about a mySQL database crash that prevented any posting or commenting to this and other blogs on faultline.org.

This is just the all-clear alert. I fixed it.

If I may be permitted a moment of gloating about how clever I am - you know, as opposed to the rest of this here blog - I'm rather pleased that I was able to sit down and logically track down which individual record in the database needed to be edited to bring the whole shebang back up. Yay me!

Can you balance my checkbook? The damn thing is stumping me, which is a shame because we used to be on very good terms.

Yes, yay you! Dealing effectively with fiddly computer bits is always very satisfying, I find.

=v= You'd never ever have these problems if you bought the database I used to work for. :^)

And I probably could have gotten it cheap in 1997!
