Blame PSotD: Five Weird Things About Myself:

I can twiddle my thumbs in opposite directions at the same time.

I can wink, but only my right eye, and that eyeís really myopic.

I keep a stapelia on the office windowsill, q.v.

I got braces on my teeth last December, at the overripe old age of 56. If I make it to 60, theoretically Iíll have straight teeth.

There are people who think itís weird that Iím a woman named Ron. Itís a heavily pruned Veronica. Iím Ron in almost every context, public and private. I use Veronica only for official stuff, checks and such. Ron and Veronica have very different handwriting styles, as I discovered when I was autographing the book I wrote as, of course, Ron.

Now I'm supposed to tag five more bloggerpeople.

Feathers of Hope
Moving Right Along
Simply Wait

OK, it's a damned meme, but I do believe it's my first. I suppose I could have included "I'm really bad at coming up with lists" and "I write for money but I don't touch-type."

I never realized how difficult it is to twiddle your thumbs in opposite directions at the same time! I couldn't do it, either...

Dude, I had *no* idea that you weren't a dude!
And yay for tagging me! You rock!! (I'm almost 40 and should be allowed to continue to use "rock" as a verb.

I can only wink my right eye, and I find it frustrating. I want to be able to do winking and eyebrow tricks with both eyes.

See, a meme every so often isn't so bad...

I dunno, P'. I mentioned the tag in a comment on every blog I tagged, and the majority of them seem to have just disappeared. Socially, a bit of a blunder, or so it feels.

Stu, I _can_ lift my left eyebrow Spock-style. Learned it from my dad, who said of it, "Before Spock came to be, I AM."

Ron, you didn't blunder, at least not as far as I'm concerned. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I will. But first I have to finish the hiking-up-a-graveyard post from 7/26 and the driving post I stopped working on when Mercury went retrograde for the month of July. And I also had urgent needs to blog about canoeing and tomatoes, which superceded both of those because it's summer.

Besides, I really do have a hard time figuring out what's weird about me. (Stop laughing. I mean it.) According to at least half of America, apparently quite a bit, but it all feels so perfectly ordinary to me.

My true love is always having to explain stuff to me. He understands normalcy a lot better than I do. He also cares quite a bit about passing for normal. I don't. I consider it a profound waste of time -- you know, except when the villagers bring out their pitchforks and axes and torches, and then I always wish I'd spent more time on it. (Moving is such a bother.)

Sara, I'm laughing -- for "weird," I had to do one of those theory-of-mind exercises. Except for the thumb thing; I'm bragging about that.

(Lou P., it's supposed to be impossible. That's what I read when I was maybe 12, and as I was having a very boring summer, I taught myself to do it.)

And Sara, you weren't one of the disappearances actually; I saw your reply. And I'm enjoying the hell out of your canoe and tomatoes (and theater) stuff, so there. But I'm definitely having one of my asocial spells.

Oops, I was away from blogging for a week or so and missed this. I will try to think of 5 things that aren't too terribly weird... (everybody thinks I'm weird enough to start with...)
