Some links, passed on for your amusement.
Particularly for Sally:
And with a hat tip to Sara:
And some personal good news: The folks at M.A.C retrieved everything from the old computer. In fact, they said it still works -- slowly. We might find a use for it somewhere. We told them we'd buy a 250-gig separate hard drive from them if they retrieved anything to put onto it, and so it transpired. Now that's all hooked up for faithful and routine backups.
Anyone else ever notice that the scent of new computer equipment has something in common with lavender?Posted at May 18, 2007 05:16 AM
That is SUCH good news about the computer, congrats.
By the way I didn't know you spoke such fluent kitteh, Ron...

Yay! What a relief that must be!
That is one messed up -- and fast! -- little turtle. I just have one question: Why? Why would a little turtle so bedevil every cat it encounters?

Sara, maybe just for fun? Looks to me as if they're both pets and probably in the same household. There seemed to be a certain aspect of play on the cat's part, too -- the first cat, anyway -- along with the obvious annoyance. The skinny white cat just seemed spooked.
Turtle brain: "Hey, look what I can make this big orange thing do! Let's do it again! Wheee, I am Master of the Universe! Bring on teh kittehz!"
Pica, I've had good teachers.

congrats on the computer!
that turtle video is the funniest thing! when we lived in the south, one of the cats spent an hour stalking a hapless turtle that wandered into the yard. mr. turtle would scamper a couple inches and pull into his shell. cat spent the next several minutes batting at the shell, eventually losing interest. turtle lumbered a little farther. cat batted at turtle shell some more. etc.

Congrats on the computer! And it works, even! Wow.
Some photographers have several external back-up hard drives. The first drive backs up the computer, the second drive backs up the first drive, etc.
That is one determined tortoise! Looks to me like playing or that would be one headless tortoise.
On a cuter, warmer, and fuzzier note, you've seen the photos of the baby hippo and the tortoise?

I think that turtle wants to have his way with that cat. Or any cat. :)
